Tom Hanks | AC Propulsion eBox

This two-time Academy Award winner needs no introduction; the Forrest Gump and Apollo 13 star is probably the most recognisable face in Hollywood and the world over. Despite being one of Hollywood’s top-grossing actors, Hanks is known for his love of everything green, eco-friendly and relatively boring. Way back in 2003 – when the electric technology was very much a new concept – he bought a Rav4 EV, an electric version of the compact Toyota SUV. In fact, six years after driving the Rav4 Hanks wrote to the New Yorker, praising its durability and low impact on the environment.

Thanks to F1 the electric technology has since improved dramatically, and Hanks has been seen around L.A in a AC Propulsion eBox. The little car is a Toyota Scion modified to become a fully electric vehicle, a transformation that set Hanks back a massive $55,000 – not that it matters to him, of course.

We score this low because… well, just look at the thing.

Elijah Wood | Mini Cooper

Elijah Wood is an American actor best known for his role as Frodo Baggins in Lord Of The Rings. The 33-year-old has a thing for Mini Cooper as he’s previously owned a red model. Despite being owned by BMW since 1994, the Mini is still very much the quintessential British icon. It doesn’ t matter if you are a checkout girl or a catwalk model, the Mini is an attractive and classless act.

George Clooney | Tango 600

Women of all ages swoon at the mere sight of Gorgeous George’s smile, but would happen if they saw him in this little Tango 600?

Okay, Celebs, we get you want to create that positive ‘eco-aware’ image by purchasing the Prius and Fisker Karma, but this is surely going too far? You would think so looking at it, but this car is just a little bit special underneath that innocuous shell.

60-mph comes in an amazing 3.2 seconds. The is made possible from its two electric motors, each capable of producing over 1,500 ft-lbs of torque. Combined, they produce more torque than 6 Dodge Viper V10!

I’m usually open-mined and respect what other people are trying to achieve aesthetically with their cars; however, on this occasion I find nothing good to say apart from its cool racing car digital display.

It’s an impressive package, but why make it look so friendly and nice? And as for those wheels, they look like something from a 90s Ford Escort. Not cool, even if you’re Gorgeous George.

If it wasn’t for the impressive power figures, this would have scored way lower.

Matthew Mahonaughey | Chevrolet Camaro Z28

Matthew McConaughey is lucky enough to get the cool roles and the cool cars to match. When he’s not in his SUVs or working out, McConaughey likes to keep it old school. Ever since he was a teen, the toned star has been in love with and drooled over a 1981 Chevy Camaro. His dreams came true when his partner, Camilla, tracked one down and gifted him one.

The Z28 has a 5.7L, V8 under the hood, and despite being average compared to modern cars, it was way ahead of its time with power windows, power locks and cruise control. What better color for a V8 muscle car than black?

Hugh Laurie | Ford Galaxy 500

Across the pond in the UK Hugh Laurie has graced the screen for over two decades, performing alongside his comedy partner, Stephen Fry in A Bit Of Fry & Laurie, the TV adaption of P.G. Wodehouse’s Jeeves & Wooster and the BBC’s Blackadder.

Stateside, Laurie shot to fame when he appeared as Dr. Gregory House in the Medical drama, House, a role that saw him gain status as one of the best paid actors on TV.

Laurie is looking pretty cool in his fire truck red Ford Galaxy 500 convertible. Although he is British, he certainly knows an American classic when he sees one.

Top 10 Celebrities That Drive a Porsche

Porsche and the celebrity have a very healthy relationship. Although the Porsche isn’t in same price range as some of the expensive cars celebrities go for, its German build quality and rich heritage has celebrities selecting cars from their entire range.

Here are 10 celebrities of various entertainment genres with their various models from the Porsche range.

Funny man and Superbad star Jonah Hill recently acquired this Porsche 991 Carrera, a car he uses to cruise around Los Angeles in whilst shopping.

For rapper Chris Brown this Porsche Turbo S looks fairly normal. He’s already crashed a black one, so let’s hope he not only keeps this one in one piece, but he also leaves the paint job well alone. If you’re not sure what I mean, check out his Lamborghinis.

Miley Cyrus has been in the news a lot recently, mainly because of her twerking and lack of clothing. Here we see Miley in one of her classic outfits that suggests mild neurosis; her choice in purchasing this Porsche Cayenne GTS, however, is anything but.

Singer LeAnn Rimes had only just taken a parking ticket off the windshield of her Porsche Panamera when she got snapped. The 31-year-old should perhaps think about spending some cash at the car wash than on herself next time out shopping.

PGA star, Rickie Fowler obviously likes his cars to stick to the road like glue, as here we have a blacked-out Nissan GT-R and a Porsche GT3RS. I love the Porsche’s colour scheme – very retro and very fitting.

Pop star Ashley Tisdale has just filled up her Porsche Boxster at a gas station in Hollywood. Not the best choice of Porsche available, especially if you have the cash to buy a 911.

Despite Ellen Degeneres’ hat, she was spotted showing a little style and taste by stepping into her black Porsche Turbo S at a restaurant in L.A. Apparently this TV star loves driving fast and hates all other cars on the road – for that, I forgive that hat.

If you can look past those perfectly sculpted legs, you’ll find Lauren Conrad’s Porsche Cayenne. This girl has a superb sense of style in looking good whilst both walking and driving.

Rapper, Soulja Boy had good reason to bombard his Instagram/Twitter accounts with photos of his new Porsche 991 Cabriolet as it is a stunningly good looking ride. Although, lose the arm, Soulja Boy, you look like a right…

Maroon 5 star and “The Voice” judge, Adam Levine likes the classic look and was spotted running around in his this gorgeous 356 Porsche with his latest girlfriend riding shotgun.

Top 10 Modified Celebrity Cars

Although this may sound like a fairly straight forward Top-10 look into the broad and varied world of celebrity cars, when it comes down to finding 10 “top” celebrity mods, it’s actually harder than you think. Celebrities are known for their often big and eccentric egos, and they like nothing more than displaying this in their cars. When money is no object and your ego is big and/or eccentric, car mods and visions usually go terribly wrong. Take the Hulkster below and his SRT Viper, for instance, and you see what I’m up against here. The Mk I Viper happens to be one of my favourite cars, especially in red with the factory yellow rims, but this is going too far.

So after much internet trawling, I present to you some of the better and tasteful celebrity modifications. This is entirely subjective, of course, but anyone finding the above attractive shouldn’t even be reading this article in the first place.

Now this is more than you’re average modded out car. This serious piece of machinery is a Hennessey Venom GT Spyder, a highly-modified version of the Lotus Exige. Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler bought this one for a cool $1.1M. You wouldn’t think someone wearing that sock/sandle combo would require a car capable of 0-200-mph in 15.9 seconds.

Known for hosting The Car Show on Speed TV and The Man Show, Adam Corolla has a very nice car collection. Apart from his race-spec JDM livery and Lamborghinis, he’s also got a very nice Aston Martin DB9 modified by legend Chip Foose. Apart from a hood scoop, Brembo discs and calipers and some black aftermarket 18″ wheels were fitted.

Not actually in shot in the collection, this is a very rare Ford RS200 owned by a very lucky Tim Allen. For a funny man this car couldn’t be anymore serious. The RS200 Evolution is a Group B lunatic of a car, helping the FIA finally make the decision to ban Group B rally. Most of these cars ended up in collections like this, and this particular car has just 3,500 miles on it. It doesn’t look that outrageous, but consider this: 0-60-mph in 2.1 seconds on tarmac… and that was in the late 80s.

This modified car is one of many unique and rare cars owned by TV legend Jay Leno. This monster is powered by an M47 Patton tank engine and has a custom aluminum body. It has 810-bhp and weighs in at 4300-kg (1/11th of the actual tank’s weight).

It’s thought Leno is set to upgrade with fuel injection and twin turbochargers to double the bhp to 1600-bhp, so around 400-bhp per tonne. Not that it will trouble Leno’s wallet, but this tank car will only manage 5-mpg.

Ralph Lauren is obviously a man with natural style and vision, and this shows in his car collection. Pictured above is the fashion mogul driving his Porsche RUF CTR-3 around the Hamptons. More than just a body kit and custom styling, the RUF CTR-3 features the kind of technology that gives you 750-bhp, a top speed of 233-mph and 0-62-mph in 3.1 seconds.

WWE wrestling star, Bill Goldberg is known for his love of muscle cars, and his clone of the ’70 Satellite to a Plymouth Superbird is simply stunning. The Superbird was either loved or hated in NASCAR, but it was eventually banned because of its aerodynamic advantage and 200+mph speeds.

Reality TV star, Barry Weiss owns his fair share of classic customs like this ’47 Cadillac. Being an avid collector for most of life, he knows when he’s hit upon something special. Is there anything cooler than doing a burnout on your own drive in a custom caddy?

Singer Cee Lo Green is looking chilled in his modern spin on a ’35 Auburn Speedster. Loving the flat paint combined with this red centre hubs.

Years before the Fast & Furious franchise began, Paul Walker (Bryan) admitted to laughing at the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) cars, but thanks to the F&F movies, he found himself totally infatuated by them. His personal garage features many JDM turbo rockets, but it’s this slammed Datsun 240Z that does it for us.

If I think about Sly Stallone driving I picture that ultra cool grey muscle car he uses in Cobra, but unfortunately he doesn’t actually own it. He does, however own this old school hot rod, a ride he likes driving around Hollywood.

Samuel L. Jackson | Maybach

Samuel L. Jackson | Maybach

Samuel L. Jackson is one of the coolest stars in Hollywood, so with this much status and reputation to uphold, only one car will do. Yes, he could’ve easily gone for a Rolls Royce Phantom or the ubiquitous Bentley, but would Shaft drive anything other than the unique and rarer Maybach?

Samuel L Jackson in a white Maybach goes together like cookies and cream… perfect.

Johnny Knoxville Cadillac Eldorado

MTV Jackass and movie star Johnny Knoxville looks pretty incongruous leaving the infamous Chateau Marmont in his 70s Cadillac El Dorado. Not really a “High Speed Weekend Survivor” like his T Shirt proclaims, but super cool all the same.

Dwayne Johnson | Ford F150

Dwayne Johnson | Ford F150

Dwayne Johnson AKA ex-wrestler The Rock has found further fame in film. Thanks to The Scorpion King, Fast & Furious 6 and G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Johnson can now add “actor” to his resume.

Like Johnson’s enormous arms and torso, his ride mirrors his bulk in the form of his black Ford F150 truck. He aptly named her the “Black Gorilla”.
