Andy Murray | Aston Martin Vanquish

Andy Murray is a Scottish tennis star, the first Brit to win Wimbledon in over 100 years.  In the BBC’s documentary: The Man Behind the Racquet, Murray said he has already owned a Ferrari F430, an Aston Martin and a Jaguar XKR. The reason he gave for selling his Ferrari was that he “felt like a prat” – the Italian car obviously possesses too much flair for the Scot.

The British number 1 has since replaced the F430 with this stylish yet understated Aston Martin Vanquish.

Alberto Del Rio | Aston Martin Vantage

Mexican WWE Superstar, Alberto Del Rio is a two-time World Heavyweight Champion, a top class act, just like his rides. Not only does he have a penchant for the Italians, Ferrari and Maserati, Del Rio likes the British Rolls-Royce and Bentley too.

Adding another Brit to his garage, D2Forged accompanied the Mexican on Monday Night Raw, showing off their wheels on his Aston Martin Vantage.

The Vantage is a gorgeous car straight out of the box, so this cherry paint and custom rims only add an extra layer of allure to it.

Top 10 Modified Celebrity Cars

Although this may sound like a fairly straight forward Top-10 look into the broad and varied world of celebrity cars, when it comes down to finding 10 “top” celebrity mods, it’s actually harder than you think. Celebrities are known for their often big and eccentric egos, and they like nothing more than displaying this in their cars. When money is no object and your ego is big and/or eccentric, car mods and visions usually go terribly wrong. Take the Hulkster below and his SRT Viper, for instance, and you see what I’m up against here. The Mk I Viper happens to be one of my favourite cars, especially in red with the factory yellow rims, but this is going too far.

So after much internet trawling, I present to you some of the better and tasteful celebrity modifications. This is entirely subjective, of course, but anyone finding the above attractive shouldn’t even be reading this article in the first place.

Now this is more than you’re average modded out car. This serious piece of machinery is a Hennessey Venom GT Spyder, a highly-modified version of the Lotus Exige. Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler bought this one for a cool $1.1M. You wouldn’t think someone wearing that sock/sandle combo would require a car capable of 0-200-mph in 15.9 seconds.

Known for hosting The Car Show on Speed TV and The Man Show, Adam Corolla has a very nice car collection. Apart from his race-spec JDM livery and Lamborghinis, he’s also got a very nice Aston Martin DB9 modified by legend Chip Foose. Apart from a hood scoop, Brembo discs and calipers and some black aftermarket 18″ wheels were fitted.

Not actually in shot in the collection, this is a very rare Ford RS200 owned by a very lucky Tim Allen. For a funny man this car couldn’t be anymore serious. The RS200 Evolution is a Group B lunatic of a car, helping the FIA finally make the decision to ban Group B rally. Most of these cars ended up in collections like this, and this particular car has just 3,500 miles on it. It doesn’t look that outrageous, but consider this: 0-60-mph in 2.1 seconds on tarmac… and that was in the late 80s.

This modified car is one of many unique and rare cars owned by TV legend Jay Leno. This monster is powered by an M47 Patton tank engine and has a custom aluminum body. It has 810-bhp and weighs in at 4300-kg (1/11th of the actual tank’s weight).

It’s thought Leno is set to upgrade with fuel injection and twin turbochargers to double the bhp to 1600-bhp, so around 400-bhp per tonne. Not that it will trouble Leno’s wallet, but this tank car will only manage 5-mpg.

Ralph Lauren is obviously a man with natural style and vision, and this shows in his car collection. Pictured above is the fashion mogul driving his Porsche RUF CTR-3 around the Hamptons. More than just a body kit and custom styling, the RUF CTR-3 features the kind of technology that gives you 750-bhp, a top speed of 233-mph and 0-62-mph in 3.1 seconds.

WWE wrestling star, Bill Goldberg is known for his love of muscle cars, and his clone of the ’70 Satellite to a Plymouth Superbird is simply stunning. The Superbird was either loved or hated in NASCAR, but it was eventually banned because of its aerodynamic advantage and 200+mph speeds.

Reality TV star, Barry Weiss owns his fair share of classic customs like this ’47 Cadillac. Being an avid collector for most of life, he knows when he’s hit upon something special. Is there anything cooler than doing a burnout on your own drive in a custom caddy?

Singer Cee Lo Green is looking chilled in his modern spin on a ’35 Auburn Speedster. Loving the flat paint combined with this red centre hubs.

Years before the Fast & Furious franchise began, Paul Walker (Bryan) admitted to laughing at the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) cars, but thanks to the F&F movies, he found himself totally infatuated by them. His personal garage features many JDM turbo rockets, but it’s this slammed Datsun 240Z that does it for us.

If I think about Sly Stallone driving I picture that ultra cool grey muscle car he uses in Cobra, but unfortunately he doesn’t actually own it. He does, however own this old school hot rod, a ride he likes driving around Hollywood.

Devin Setogushi | Aston Martin Vantage

Devin Setogushi Aston Martin Vantage

Devin Setoguchi is a Canadian right winger for the NHL Winnipeg Jets. Being half-Yonsei, Devin has acquired the nicknames “The Gooch” and “Seto” from his surname.

Devin took his Aston Martin Vantage to California Wheels, where they sat the powerful V12 on a set of 20″ Asanti Monoblocks.

It’s good to see a Vantage over the DB9s, and the rims match perfectly.

Jack Jarrett | Aston Martin Rapide

Jack Jarrett | Aston Martin DB9

Cleveland Cavaliers Point Guard, Jack Jarrett obviously loves his Rapide as he feels the need to cone off his ride every time he hits the gym. It’s a $200,000 car; I don’t think it really needs pointing out. Is the 29-year-old Paranoid or overly protective? You decide.

Nice car and rims, but that’s about it.

Top Footballers Cars

Running back for the San Francisco 49ers, Frank Gore is pictured here chilling with his Maserati Quattroporte. Giving the car a little flavor, California Wheels threw on some 22″ burgundy/chrome Asanti AF138s to match the body color – tastefully done, too.

It seems the 49ers players have vision and style when it comes to their rides as here we see Glenn Dorsey with his custom Rolls Royce Phantom. For an NFL player dabbling with customising such a regal car, I think the tints and rims go really well.

I personally detest this crazy Donk fad but thought I’d include one as NFL players seems to like them. Darren McFadden, AKA DMC or D-Mac, is a running back for the Oakland Raiders. I guess the bonus of donks is being able to get to those hard to reach areas when washing your car.

49ers offensive lineman, Chilo Rachel probably chose this whip to allow for his substantial 6’5”, 323 lb frame. Nice to see some rims that match the vehicle well.

Former NFL running back for teams like The Jets, The Bears and The Chiefs, Thomas Jones sure knows how to strike a meaningful pose, and if any car is worth posing in front of is a fire engine red Rolls Royce Phantom.

I had to include this ride as I want it… badly. Tight end for the Tennessee Titans, Delaine Walker definately knows what to do with a classic – forget the Donks and slam it into a Lowrider.

Anthony Davis plays defensive tackle for the San Francisco 49s and clearly knows how to make a jeep look cool. The 23-year-old is a behemoth of a man, so it’s probably best to remove the doors to allow for any overhang.

49ers linebacker,  NaVorro Bowman has his Porsche properly blacked out… in a good way. Simple window and rear light tints and spoked alloys with the yellow callipers on show is the way to correctly pimp out a Panamera.

It’s a well known fact Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush has a passion for buying cars. The cream of the crop so far in this list is this 1967 Shelby Mustang GT 500 – think Eleanor from Gone In Sixty Seconds. Not a lot to say apart from: Superb.

LaRon Landry plays safety for the Indianapolis Colts and is a player who also buys a lot of cars. He owns a Kawasaki green Lamborghini Murcielago but I think this matte white Aventador with black rims earns the right to grace this page.

Ice T’s Astom Martin DB9 Drop-top

ice T aston Marting DB9

Ice T is no stranger to customized rides and to be honest, we like his DB9 far more than his Bentley Continental and his Mercedes SL with lambo doors.

Yunel Escobar | Aston Martin Rapide on Forgiato

Yunel Escobar Aston Martin Rapide

Yunel Escobar is professional baseball shortstop with the Tampa Bay Rays of Major League Baseball and while some baseball players chose to keep the car game low key, not Yunel. He recently dropped off his Rapide with MC Customs for Forgiato wheels.
