Offered here is an extraordinary and historically significant German Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) lidded pewter presentation flagon / tankard, measuring approximately 12 ½ inches in height.This piece is the highly sought-after Model No. 4290, originally designed circa 1904 by the master designer Hugo Leven for the prestigious foundry Kayserzinn. The vessel features an elegant, tapering form beautifully decorated in crisp high-relief with fluid, organic Art Nouveau whiplash motifs, stylized hops, and swirling roots/vines.
German inscription reads-
Gewidmet Unserm lieben Kgs. Obertheatermeister J. Dehn z. 25 jährigen Jubiläum von der Firma Henr. Burgs Nfg.”
Translation-
