Charming large-format M.I. Hummel figurine titled “Merry Wanderer,” produced by Goebel in West Germany. This classic design depicts a young traveler cheerfully setting off on his journey, wearing a black hat and green jacket and carrying his orange-red umbrella over his shoulder and a travel bag in his hand.
This is the impressive large HUM 7/II version, standing approximately 10.25 inches tall, substantially larger than the more commonly encountered small Merry Wanderer figurines.
Beautifully hand painted in the characteristic soft Hummel palette, with expressive facial features, gently shaded clothing and wonderful sculptural details throughout. The base bears the impressed M.I. Hummel signature and “Merry Wanderer” identification label. The underside is impressed 7 II and bears the blue Goebel W. Germany trademark.
Measurements: approximately 10.25" H × 6.25" L × 4" D.
Weight: approximately 1.2 lbs.
Condition: Very good vintage condition based on visual inspection. No obvious major chips, cracks or repairs are visible in the photographs. Some normal surface and base wear consistent with age and previous display is present. Please review all photographs closely, as they form an important part of the condition description. no box.
