E. Gerber Mylites+ 1.42 Mil Mylar Bags (100) and Full Back Boards (100) Combo Set - Silver & Golden Age Size
This combo set provides a high-quality archival solution for storing 100 Silver Age (mid-1950s to 1970s) and standard Golden Age comic books. It pairs E. Gerber's slightly thinner Mylar sleeves with their thickest Full Back boards for excellent long-term protection.
Component 1: E. Gerber Mylites+ 1.42 Mil Mylar Bags (100 Sleeves)
Mylites+ offers the trusted archival quality of Mylar in a slightly thinner profile (1.42 Mil), making it a cost-effective choice for large collections of vintage comics.
Product Line: Mylites+ (Often referred to as 1.42 Mil Mylar)
Quantity: 100 Sleeves
Material: 1.42 Mil thick Mylar (Polyester Film)
Size: Silver & Golden Age Comics
Approx. Dimensions: Typically 7 1 /4" x 10 1/2"(Bag size, plus fold-over flap). This size accommodates the standard dimensions of most Silver and Golden Age comics.
Archival Benefit: Chemically inert Mylar provides a durable barrier against oxygen, moisture, and acid migration, ensuring vintage contents will not yellow or degrade over time.
Component 2: E. Gerber Full Back Archival Backing Boards (100 Boards)
Full Back boards provide maximum structural support and chemical buffering for your Silver and Golden Age comics.
Quantity: 100 Boards
Material: 100% Acid-Free, Virgin Wood Cellular Fiber
Thickness: Typically 35 Mil to 42 Mil (Significantly thicker than standard 24pt boards)
Archival Quality: Contains a 3% Calcium Carbonate alkaline buffer to actively neutralize environmental acids, maintaining a neutral pH of 8.0+.
Size: Silver & Golden Age Comics (Designed to perfectly fit inside the corresponding Mylites+ bag).
Purpose: Provides extremely firm support to prevent bending, spine roll, and warping in valuable vintage books.
Combo Set Benefits
This combination offers a balance of cost-effectiveness and premium protection for vintage comics:
High-Level Archival Defense: The Mylar sleeve and buffered board offer dual protection against chemical and environmental damage.
Maximum Rigidity: The extra-thick Full Back boards provide non-flexible support superior to standard boards, essential for older paper.
Perfect Fit: Both components are sized to work together seamlessly for the Silver & Golden Age comic format.
