1860's STEREOVIEW CIVIL WAR UNION HOSPITAL, DOCTORS, PATIENTS, AMERICAN FLAGS :
$850.00

1860's stereoview photograph showing the interior of a Union Civil War hospital. This image shows many doctors, patients in beds, patients in chairs, & several American flags. A highly detailed & interesting photo which is a significant rarity. In our experience of over 50+ years in handling early photographs we have never seen another example of this stereoview of a Civil War hospital interior. This circa 1860's Civil War stereoview is as issued with a squared corners matt. This view measures 6 13/16 inches by 3 5/16 inches. The corners have slight wear & there is minor age soiling. The two sides of the image have some tiny surface wear/scuff flaws. The back has some minor surface lines in the paper.
This photo would have been taken during the American Civil War. There is no photographer's marking on the example we are offering. This photo may possibly have been taken by: "J. W. Queen & Co. Optical Co." Also, there is some chance that the photo may have been taken by R. Newell of Philadelphia. But, we are not certain as to the photographer & this photo may have been taken by yet another photographer rather than either of the two that we have mentioned. A very rare view for an advanced collector of Civil war related or stereoview photos. Please examine the photos closely and purchase based on your own judgement as to condition and value.
