An unusual and very appealing antique souvenir pin cushion from the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago.
Made in the form of a highly detailed Victorian-style lace-up boot, with moulded laces, buttons and stitching detail and a deep red velvet/plush pin cushion fitted into the top.
The underside is clearly embossed:

1893”
Produced as a souvenir of the famous Chicago World's Fair of 1893, making this a lovely surviving piece of late-19th-century exhibition memorabilia as well as an interesting antique sewing collectible.
Measurements: approximately 3 inches long × 2¼ inches high × 1⅜ inches wide.
Condition: Good antique condition considering its age. There is general surface wear, rubbing, scratches and marks to the metal consistent with a piece dating from 1893. The red fabric pin cushion shows age-related wear and some dust/discolouration but remains firmly in place. Please study the photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description.
A particularly charming little piece of 1893 Chicago World's Fair memorabilia, now over 130 years old.
