1937 WEDGWOOD EDWARD VIII QUEENS WARE CORONATION PLATE:
$15.00

Maker: England's Edward VIII was never coronated, choosing instead to abdicate the throne in order to marry Mrs. Simpson. Production of items commemorating his coronation was stopped and many pieces were destroyed. So this plate by England's iconic maker Wedgwood, while not rare, is still scarce.
Design: The Queen's Ware plate features Edward's profile in classic Wedgwood blue, with the phrase "Edward VIII 1937". On the back is the Wedgwood mark that reads: "TO COMMEMORATE THE CORONATION OF HIS MAJESTYKING EDWARD VIII1937 -WEDGWOOD MADE IN ENGLAND. WEDGWOODEMBOSSEDQUEENS WAREMADE IN ENGLAND".
Size: The plate is 9 3/8 inches wide and weighs 1 pound 1 ounce.
Condition: There are no marks, nicks, chips, cracks, stains, repairs or significant wear. There is fine crazing throughout - visible in the photos - and a small bit of missing glaze on the edge. That's shown in the photos with the red arrows.
Please check all the photos very carefully – they are an important part of the description. Related Items:
