The internal documents cover Disneyland payroll procedures, employee orientation, wardrobe policies, costume and shoe requirements, and the company’s detailed appearance standards known as “The Disneyland Look.” Subjects include hairstyles, makeup, perfume, fingernails, jewelry, shoes, stockings, clothing changes and proper presentation while “on stage.” The illustrated employee booklet includes a welcome from Disneyland Operations Vice President Dick Nunis and discusses the responsibilities of cast members in maintaining the Disneyland show. Together, the materials provide an unusually detailed look at Disneyland employee culture, training and appearance standards during the early 1970s.
Condition varies throughout, with expected age, handling and storage wear including toning, spotting, creases, edge wear, small tears, staple oxidation and writing. The University of Disneyland folder has surface wear, discoloration and creasing. Some documents may be incomplete or consist of individual pages from larger bulletins.
