TheMikasa Olympus crystal linewas produced between 1987 and 2018, and many pieces relied on temporary marking or were produced in factories that used other methods of identification.
Here are the reasons why your glass may not have the stamp:
- Original Paper Stickers:Many Mikasa crystal items originally featured apaper sticker or foil labelon the base rather than a permanent acid-etched or laser-engraved stamp. These stickers often wash off over time.
- Production in Slovenia:Many pieces in the Olympus line were hand-crafted in Slovenia. European-produced, hand-cut, or blown crystal often does not have a permanent brand mark, focusing on the quality of the glass instead.
- Replacement Inventory Identification:Even when purchasingMikasa Olympusitems from major replacement retailers, they are often identified by their distinct swirled cuts and heavy weight rather than a signature.
- Hand-Cut Characteristics:The Olympus pattern features a distinct spiral cut, which is often used by collectors to verify the pattern over a brand stamp
- CONDITION IS EXCELLENT. NO CHIPS, NO CRACKS, NO SCRATCHES.
