This is a pair of vintage porcelain Christmas tree shaped bellsfrom Lefton, made in Japan. One bell is decorated with a red cardinal perched on a holly branch, andthe other is decorated with an old-style Christmas tree.
The bell decorated with the tree still has its red foil Lefton Japan sticker, thecardinal bell only has some remnants of the adhesive from where its labelused to be.
MEASUREMENTS:Around 3 1/4" tall (the bell with the tree is slightly taller)About 2 1/2" wide at baseJust under 2" measuring front to back at base
There are no chips or cracks. These were displayed and there is some staining to theunglazed porcelain at the base of the bells.
There are a few pinpoint sized specks of color in the area aroundthe designs on the bells (shown in photos #14 and #15 )
The other minor flaws that I noticed is small spots where the green glaze has "popped"or been rubbed off the wreath shaped handles at the top of the bells. Someexamples shown in photos #16 through #24 . These areas are hard to distinguish fromthe light reflections on the high spots of the wreathes (which is fortunate)~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~
