Compelling Item Description
Step back into the golden age of animation with this rare, original set of three (3) unused 1938 Walt Disney Silly Symphony iron-on heat transfer sheets, produced by Walt Disney Enterprises (W.D.ENT.)!
Measuring approximately 7" wide by 3 1/2" tall, these pre-war wax paper transfers were designed to be heat-pressed onto children's clothing, pillowcases, or handkerchiefs. Because they were meant to be used and discarded, finding complete, unapplied survivors in fresh condition is remarkably scarce.
Included Silly Symphony Classics:
The Country Cousin (Academy Award Winner): Features country mouse Abner lighting up an oversized tobacco pipe next to dapper city mouse Monty.
The Tortoise and the Hare (Academy Award Winner): Classic race showdown between persistent Toby Tortoise sweating under the blazing sun and cocky speedster Max Hare.
Elmer Elephant: Touching scene of little Elmer in his red overalls and cap wiping away a tear, surrounded by teasing jungle animal schoolmates and sweet Tillie Tiger.
Key Collector Highlights:
Authentic 1938 Copyright: Stamped with official pre-war © 1938 W.D.ENT. markings and production sequence numbers.
Mirrored Transfer Graphic: Shows the reversed print intended for clean fabric application.
Unused & Unmelted: Inks are sharp, clear, and perfectly intact on original translucent glassine/wax transfer stock.
A prize acquisition for collectors of early pre-war Disneyana, vintage animation history, or classic Silly Symphony memorabilia!
