Authentic Early 20th Century German Miniature Bisque Rabbits
.
For your consideration is this charming pair of antique German bisque (porcelain) rabbit figurines. These are quintessential examples of "PutZ" or penny-toy miniatures produced in Germany during the late 19th to early 20th century. These antique German bisque rabbit figurines were produced in the Sonneberg region (SP504), designed in the classic Hertwig-style putz animal tradition. Ideal for antique dollhouse, Easter, or German putz displays. These figurines are in superior antique condition compared to most surviving examples. They feature original "cold-painted" brown pigment. Unlike many others where the paint has flaked away, these retain excellent color and stippled detailing.
