Antique Adams Express Co Wax Seal Stamp Hemlock MI 9187 EJ Brooks New York RR:
$160.00

Up for sale is a fantastic piece of early 20th-century railroadiana; an original Adams Express Company Wax Seal Stamp from the rural depot in Hemlock, Michigan. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, local express agents used heavy-duty stamps like this to secure canvas money bags, high-value document packets, and freight pouches with tamper-evident hot wax before loading them onto passing trains.
The Inscription is deep and cleanly engraved in reverse: "ADAMS EXPRESS CO. HEMLOCK MICH. 9187". It leaves a perfectly crisp, raised impression. The top of the heavy brass base is clearly stamped by the legendary security hardware manufacturer: E.J. BROOKS & CO. NEW YORK. Item is made of solid brass bottom die/matrix paired with its original steel hand mechanism.
