The studio mark at the bottom reads “Witzel – 811 S. Hill St. – Los Angeles.” The portrait shows an unidentified young girl wearing a lace dress and seated on an ornate wooden chair.
Albert Witzel was a noted Los Angeles photographer active during the early Hollywood era. Based on the studio address and presentation style, this photograph is believed to date from approximately the 1910s–1920s.
Approximate overall size: 7 x 13 inches.
The child is unidentified. No name or additional identifying information was found on the front or reverse.
Condition: Original antique condition with age-related wear. The photograph retains very good detail and contrast. There is visible discoloration/staining within the photograph, including areas above and below the subject. The original cardboard mount shows edge and corner wear, surface wear, and a tear/damage near the upper corner. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the condition description.
