Beautiful antiqueFrench Louis XVI–style 3-piece portico mantel clock garniture set, consisting of the central marble mantel clock and a matching pair of decorative candelabras.
Dated to 1855. Purchased in Cannes, France, in 1992.
The set features an elegantwhite/gray veined marble construction with gilt-metal decorative accents, giving it the classic neoclassical appearance associated with French Louis XVI revival design.
The clock has a traditional mechanical movement and has beenobserved running. Thebell/chime mechanism has also sounded, which is an important feature for a set of this age.
