Dates from the EARLY Victorian era around c1860
A spectacular plate- the design is TOTALLY hand drawn and painted, not transferred with hand painted coloration.
Features an incredibly lavish & lushFABULOUS hand painted Bird Of Paradise in the center, surrounded by exotic florals and leaves. The border has Asian style arches and an interesting edging pattern.
Hand sponged gold gilt flourishes, hand painted gilded details and border rim.
Jewel toned colors are rich and deep
Excellent condition- just about PRISTINE. No nicks chips cracks scratches fading or repair. Gold is unworn and not faded or darkened. As lovely an example of this plate as to be found. No cutlery marks as this was obviously a treasured display piece. See all pics and use zoom.
Highly collectible- great as a cabinet display piece, a centerpiece, or many people use plate hangers to hang these on a wall. Gorgeous image.
