Antique Hand Painted CHERUBS Putti Limoges J.P. France Dresser Set Signed 1899:
$259.00
This antique dresser set features cherubs or putti. Made in 1899, the set is signed by Alice E. Tindall and exudes a sense of elegance and charm. Perfect for collectors of vanity accessories or those with a appreciation for exquisite craftsmanship, this dresser set adds a touch of vintage sophistication to any space.
Marked by Jean Pouyat, J. P. L. (Limoges, France), who was considered “a beacon of French porcelain excellence “.
The powder box and hair receiver have no cracks or chips in the porcelain. The tray has been broken and repaired. I do not know if this set was originally sold as a five piece set or if they were purchased separately.
The colors are extraordinary. The gold is raised and was used generously. There is a speck of paint missing from the powder jar lid, but is just a speck. The cherubs on the tray do not match the cherubs on the bowls. All three are signed by the same artist named Alice.
P.H.Leonard was the importer of the hair receiver.
The hair receiver is about 6 inches wide and about 3 1/2 inches tall. The powder box is about 5 1/2 inches wide in about 2.75 inches tall. The tray is about 12 1/2 inches wide by 9 inches.
