Antique Handmade Hungarian Journal Filled With Poetry And Notes C. Turn of the Century Ephemera
Possibly written by Mirkay Ferencz is written on a number of pages- possibly the owner/creator of this journal.
Includes tons of handwritten manuscript pages copying out 19th-century Hungarian poems like, "Búcsú Dall" (Búcsúdal / Farewell Song) attributed to Petőfi Sandor. Also Temetőben!" (In the Cemetery!), and HARAGSZIK RÁM." (They are angry at me.) to highlight just a few. Also many notes and loose ephemera. One handwritten page is titled "Egyes színek jelentősége" (Meaning of various colors), listing symbolic or traditional meanings for each color:
• Fehér — ártatlanság (White — innocence)
• Fekete — gyász, halál (Black — mourning, death)
• Rózsaszín — szerelem (Pink — love)
• Bíborvörös — büszkeség (Crimson / Purple-red — pride)
• Sötétvörös — követelőzés (Dark red — demandingness / insistence)
• Lila — őszinteség (Purple / Lilac — sincerity)
• Virág (or Viola) — szenvedély, barátság (Violet — passion, friendship)
• Világoskék — hit (Light blue — faith)
• Ezüstkék — erény (Silver blue — virtue)… etc.
Overall, just a really lovely, rustic, turn-or-the-Century handwritten Hungarian journal notebook.
