Antique Royal Bayreuth Tapestry Porcelain Basket Courting Couple Bavaria Germany:
$79.99
Beautiful antique Royal Bayreuth porcelain basket featuring a scenic tapestry finish. This piece showcases a romantic, classic "Courting Couple" scene depicting a gentleman bowing to a lady in a soft garden landscape.
The standout feature of this item is its incredible fabric-like texture. Royal Bayreuth achieved this unique "Tapestry" technique by pressing fine linen cloth into the wet porcelain body prior to firing, resulting in a surface that looks and feels exactly like woven textile.
Crafted in Tettau, Bavaria, Germany, this piece features the blue underglaze shield backstamp with twin lions. The basket is accented with elegant, twisted gold-gilt rope trim detailing along the central handle and the fluted rim.
