Antique Tin ✨ABC Alphabet Plate Who Killed Cock Robin Nursery Rhyme 8" Primitive:
$39.99

Up for sale is a beautiful, highly collectible 19th-century antique children's ABC alphabet tin plate featuring the classic "Who Killed Cock Robin" nursery rhyme theme. The center features an embossed illustration of the sparrow with his bow and arrow alongside the fallen robin, surrounded by the clear text: "WHO KILLED COCK ROBIN • I SAID THE SPARROW WITH MY BOW & ARROW • I KILLED COCK ROBIN." The outer rim is fully embossed with the complete A-Z alphabet.Condition: This item is in very good primitive antique condition. The front has a deep, rich brownish-red tinned patina that highlights the relief lettering beautifully. I think it must have been carefully painted in past century with black highlights to show off the embossed design. There is some rust? present on front and I was worried to scrub at it as to not disturb the patina. The reverse side features a wonderfully clean, dark uniform burgundy patina layer with no heavy scaling or deep rust pitting. It lies flat and has exceptional structural integrity for its age. Perfect addition to any early nursery americana, folk art, or primitive tinware collection.
