LONG WAVE UVBeautiful and unique specimen of a large fully terminated, twinned "Nailhead" Calcite crystal with Amethyst crystals covering a second cleaved Calcite that is connected. The Calcite crystal is mostly coated with individual yet connected sphere shaped Chalcedony?? Cristobalite? (not sure).
The large Calcite crystal is fully formed with hexagonal prism faces and deeply grooved striations on the expose crystal faces at termination. The twin Calcite has cleaved termination faces and is glass clear which you can see white sphere crystals of Cristobalite?
The Amethyst crystals are terminated and sharp with a nice purple color. Some tiny metallic minerals are seen in various spots which magnification may be needed to see.
Fluoresces some white and red under 365nm long wave UV light.
