Christ Church, located in the historic Old City neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is one of the most architecturally and historically significant houses of worship in the United States. Completed in its grandest form between 1727 and 1744, this stunning structure was the first parish of the Church of England in Pennsylvania and is widely considered a masterpiece of American Georgian architecture.Designed by physician and amateur architect John Kearsley, the church is modeled closely after the London churches of Sir Christopher Wren.
