Early 20th Century, Antique Postcard Album Likely Dating back to the Golden Age of Postcards, Circa 1905-1915, One Even from 1899 which is on the Last Page. Book contains 142 post cards and curated by Myra Glazer, as written on the first few pages with scenes from Stratford on Avon, the restaurant aboard the Princess Clementine, London, Amsterdam and St. Mary’s Church in Warwick. This album is extremely delicate. It might have been, “damp,” but there is no smell. It has been crinkled over the years, however the 142 postcards are in remarkably great shape. Colors are bold and vibrant. Because of the book’s fragile state, I removed very few of the cards. Most DO NOT have any writing on them, no postage mark or stamps. Myra numbered each page up to 100 and looks to have simply collected postcards. Some of those pages have become detached from its binging. It’s a little dusty and some of the pages are torn. These vintage albums were designed with heavy paper pages and corner slots or slip-in pockets to preserve and display collectible postal cards, travel views and holiday greetings.Some of the slots are torn but somehow the cards are held inside the book and on their designated page. The cover design is a pale grey or green-tinted cloth or cardboard cover with ornate Art Nouveau-style embossing, gold-foil accents and a circular medallion showing a knight on horseback. It’s the size of a regular, modern day photo album. If you have questions, please ask. Album is an Estate Sale find and is SOLD AS IS. It was displayed as you see it and was under glass.
