This cap is unused but has some splotching. My zoom pics make it look worse than to the eye. The maker's mark dates this cap prior to 1962. I found this history based on the makers mark wHs......The logo "WHS" on vintage bottle caps stands for W.H. Hutchinson & Son, Inc., based in Chicago, Illinois. [1]
- Company History: W.H. Hutchinson & Son was a major manufacturer of crown cork seals (metal bottle caps) during the early and mid-20th century. [1]
- Corporate Timeline: The company was later sold to Insilco in 1962, and subsequently purchased by the National Can Corporation in 1974 to serve as their closure division. [1]
