Construction & Joinery: The reservoir and arch are formed from hand-rolled sheet tin joined with early hand-applied lead/tin solder joints rather than modern continuous machine welds or spot-welds.
Ironwork: The upper hanger is genuinely hand-forged wrought iron showing irregular hammer marks, a hand-twisted spiral stem, and a blacksmith-punched eyelet hook rather than cast metal or machine-twisted wire.
Chain & Pick: The attached wick pick chain is composed of hand-bent S-link iron wire attached via a worn wire eyelet that displays genuine mechanical friction wear.
Patina & Carbonization: The interior floor and wick spout exhibit dark, hardened carbon/grease residues deeply embedded into the metal surface oxidation, impossible to duplicate convincingly with modern chemical patinating agents.
