A beautifully detailed vintage premier limited edition mixed metal media sculpture / bust entitled "Sitting Bull" limited edition by Legends & sculptor Christopher Pardell. This colorful sculpture depicts the Native American Indian Chief and Lakota leader Sitting Bull from the Dakota Territory.*Two small tips on the bottom of the feathered headdress are missing/broke. They are on the bottom and barely noticeable in my opinion but priced accordingly see last two pics*. The sculpture measures with stone plinth / pedestalapprox. 6 5/8" tall, 3 3/4" wide, 3" deep and weighs over 3 pounds. The sculpture is stamped " Sitting Bull Pardell U.S.A 1995 Cody 340/2500".This is a quality keepsake that will last a lifetime and can be handed down from generation to generation.This lovely sculpture would display great in your home office desk, fireplace mantel, man cave, cabin, paperweight art decor or make a nice gift.
About the Artist: Christopher Pardell (20th century) was active/lived in United States.Christopher Pardell is known for Indians and cowboys on horses sculpture. Christopher Pardell began sculpting at the age of four, and by his teenage years, he had come to the realization that sculpting was to become his life's work. Influenced by the work of sculptors Russell, Remington and Rodin, Pardell wanted to pursue his passion for realism. His formal education was laid aside in favor of an apprentice moldmaker position with a commercial statuary company, and it was there that he received what he considers to be his "real education in art." As an apprentice to the Italian master artisans who ran the statuary, Christopher rapidly learned the skills that would enable him to become a skilled sculptor. Never sketching his designs on paper, Christopher composes all of his work in three dimensions, in a maquette.

Mixed media is a combination of various fine metals such as lost wax bronze, fine pewter, brass, copper, 24 karat gold vermeil and various hot torched acid patinas such as black nickel, rose copper, and turquoise, to highlight the sculpture. In addition, the sculpture may contain embellishments such as Lucite.

I acquire my items from local sales, estate sales etc... I try to describe them to the best of my ability for any damage and/or flaws.
