RARE SURVIVOR - "Red Diamond Overalls St Louis Missouri Complete Advertising Salesman Sample Calendar Book from 1920s.
Images display the green textured paper cover stamped with "SAMPLES / ART CALENDAR 1922 / RED DIAMOND CLOTHING CO. / ST. LOUIS, MO." This book was originally carried by traveling salesmen or kept at store counters so retail merchants could preview and order custom-branded wall calendars for their customers.
The Panels: The first image shows a four-panel accordion-fold layout. Each panel features a different popular illustrative print style from the era, complete with placeholder text at the top reading "Merchant's Advertisement / Of Any Desired Wording Neatly Printed In This Space."
The Branding: At the bottom corners of the individual calendars, you can spot the circular red logo for "Red Diamond Overalls & Shirts"
Red Diamond Clothing Co. was a prominent manufacturer of union-made workwear, particularly overalls and work shirts, operating in St. Louis during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Salesman sample calendar books from this period are relatively rare because most were thrown away once the year passed, or the individual art panels were cut out and framed.
MEASURES: 40 1/4” x 15 1/4”
CONDITION: wear throughout, some water staining, no funny smells - An intact piece with heavily worn surfaces but no structurally compromised seams or tears (see photos for condition)..
