Limoges France Halloween Trinket Box Peint Main Cat & Jack-o'-Lantern Hand Paint:
$70.00
Limoges France hand-painted porcelain trinket box (also called a hinged pill or keepsake box), perfect for Halloween collectors!
Design: An oval, black box painted with a starry night sky, a glowing full moon and wispy clouds. On the lid sits a sculpted porcelain gray-and-white tabby kitten beside a glossy orange jack-o'-lantern with a grinning painted face. Open the lid for a fun surprise: a hand-painted dagger with orange "dripping" drops inside the box. A spooky-cute detail!
Details:
- Marked on the underside: "Limoges France," "Marque Déposée," "Peint Main" (hand painted), with the artist/maker's monogram
- Gilt (gold-tone) brass hinged mounting with an embossed pattern and a decorative bow clasp
- Shape: oval
- Theme: Halloween, cat, pumpkin, night sky
- Approximate size: [measure length x width x height, about 2.5" long]
Condition: Excellent no chips, cracks or repairs on the porcelain, hinge opens and closes smoothly, glaze is bright and glossy, light wear to the gilt finish if any. From a smoke-free home. This would make a wonderful addition to a Limoges box collection, a Halloween display or a gift for a cat lover. Each piece is individually hand painted, so there may be slight variations from other examples.
