Lot (6) Vintage Pontiac Garlatz Motor Co. Kimball Tire Co. Automotive Signs:
$49.95
Signs measure approximately 6" x 4 1/2" each.
Signs have scratches, chips, and other wear as shown. Signs are made out of molded plastic.
Garlatz Motor Co. was a Pontiac automobile dealership located at 385 E. Lerdo Highway in Shafter, California. The dealership served the Shafter area of Kern County and used the local Pioneer 6-2033 telephone exchange. These decorative automobile plaques were promotional advertising pieces bearing the dealership’s name and Pontiac branding, making surviving examples interesting pieces of Shafter and Kern County automotive history.
The Kimball Tire Co. Inc. signs are likely from the 1970s based on the phone number displayed and type of advertising. Kimball Tire Co opened between the 1930s and 1940s and was involved in retreading and recapping tires for the U.S. military during WW2 .
