Offered here is a new STILL SEALED copy of Percy Crosby's Skippy Daily Comics Volume 3, 1931-1933, a gorgeous hardcover collection from IDW Publishing. The copy is beautiful condition, with the original lower-third dust jacket still intact and in place inside the sealed publisher's shrinkwrap.
Skippy was one of the most popular comic strips of the late 1920s through the mid-1930s, and glancing at the captivating strips in this fourth entry in IDW's complete reprinting of the title, it's not hard to see why. The daily installments reprinted here define the daily pleasures and challenges of life for Skippy, a fun-loving kid who could also wax philosophical when the occasion required. Charles M. Schulz acknowledged Skippy as a primary influence on Peanuts, and Bill Watterson clearly admired the strip, which was also an obvious inspiration for Calvin and Hobbes. Other comic masters who admired Percy Crosby and Skippy include Jules Feiffer and Milt Caniff.
