The large mounting bracket features raised INDEPENDENCE 1776 lettering. This substantial bell has a traditional design commonly associated with older farms, schoolhouses, and rural properties.

The bell retains its aged appearance with substantial surface rust, oxidation, and weathering from years of exposure. There is an older welded repair to the bell body, visible in the photographs. Despite this repair, the bell still rings clearly.
