RARE NASA 1971 Apollo Senior Management Tour Briefing Rockwell CSM CM w/ COA:
$1250.00

Offered is a scarce original 1971 North American Rockwell Space Division briefing, showing the construction of the CM 117, 118 & 119, prepared for NASA senior management during the Apollo and Skylab programs. Included is a COA from Daniel Nebrig’s estate, a former Associative manager at NASA during the Apollo Missions.

Titled AP71-11, the presentation is dated May 19, 1971 and states 51 total pages on the cover.

Produced by North American Rockwell—the prime contractor responsible for the Apollo Command and Service Module.

The briefing provides a remarkable contemporary look inside the Apollo spacecraft production program while hardware was still actively being manufactured, assembled and tested.

This was prepared as a senior-management briefing, presenting program status, manufacturing schedules, spacecraft locations, testing milestones, workforce requirements and Skylab-related planning.

Especially noteworthy are contemporary North American Rockwell photographs documenting individual Apollo spacecraft in various stages of construction, including Command Modules 117, 118 and 119, as well as Service Module 119.

The photographs provide unusually detailed views of unfinished Apollo hardware with structural components, wiring, plumbing and other spacecraft systems exposed.

The briefing also contains a detailed CSM 117 Program Schedule, tracing the spacecraft through numerous stages of production and testing, including wire-harness inspection, environmental-control-system installation, pressure testing, black-box installation, Service Propulsion System work, individual and combined systems testing, integrated systems testing and much more of the process unpictured.

Additional material includes Apollo and Skylab workforce projections, spacecraft delivery information, Skylab equipment schedules, major ground-test schedules and detailed program-management charts.

One program chart incorporates the facsimile/reproduced approval signature of G. W. Jeffs, identified as Vice President and Program Manager, CSM Programs.

The signature is reproduced as part of the document and is not represented as an original autograph.

The May 1971 date places this briefing at an extraordinary point in NASA history: Apollo 14 had recently returned from the Moon, Apollo 15 was preparing for its July 1971 launch.

Later, Apollo spacecraft remained in production, and Skylab was under active development. The booklet therefore captures the Apollo spacecraft production program in progress rather than describing it retrospectively.

Throughout the presentation are numerous North American Rockwell Space Division photographs, technical diagrams, manufacturing schedules, program charts, spacecraft serial numbers and document/control numbers, making this an especially interesting piece for both the advanced space collector and researcher.
