Product DescriptionSteering Wheel Adapter Hub w/Screw Set Fit 3Hole Steering Wheel for FreightlinerMytee Products brings this 3-hole steering wheel adapter for Freightliner models from 1989 to 2006. This steering wheel hub is ideal for mounting the steering wheel properly and transfers rotational input from the driver’s hand into the steering column shaft. The other essential details of this product are as provided below:
- Fitment & Compatibility: This steering wheel hub is suitable for installing 3-hole steering wheels securely. This adapter is compatible with Freightliner 1989-2006 models.
- Durable Construction: The hub adapter is made using durable zinc material and is chrome-plated for better durability. The silver-mirror finish of the hub adapter enhances the appearance of the steering wheel. We also provide hub adapters and steering wheels in different designs and numbers of spokes.
- Application: The steering wheel adapter acts as a connector between the steering column shaft and the steering wheel. It provides mounting support and alignment so that the steering wheel can be installed securely on vehicles. It also helps to transfer rotational input into the steering column shaft to control the vehicle's wheels when the driver turns the steering wheel.
- Inclusion: This package has one steering wheel adapter for a 3-hole steering wheel and three screw set that helps to lock the hub and the steering wheel securely in place.
Installation: Follow the given installation instructions:
- At first, park the vehicle on level ground and set the parking brake.
- Now, disconnect the battery to avoid accidental horns or airbag activation (if applicable).
- Remove the center horn button or cover by gently prying it off, and disconnect the horn wire connector (if present).
- Remove the center retaining nuts holding the steering wheel. You can use a socket wrench for this.
- Clean the column spine before fitting the new steering wheel hub to ensure a tight and stable connection.
- Now, install the new hub adapter by sliding it onto the steering wheel column splines.
- Once done, reconnect the horn wire contact, and secure the hub with the center nut and tighten it.
- You can now attach the steering wheel back with the hub adapter.
