VTG 1953 Mid Century Valentine Card Lot 21 Die Cut School Valentines A-Meri-Card:
$65.00

Up for sale is a wonderfully preserved, authentic lot of 21 mid-century children's die-cut school valentines dating precisely to the 1953–1954 school year. This collection features a charming selection of anthropomorphic animals, puns, kitsch illustrations, and mechanical stand-up pieces.HISTORICAL PROVENANCE & BACKSTORY:
Unlike generic modern reproductions, this entire lot has incredible real-world provenance. The backs of the cards feature handwriting that definitively anchors them to February 12, 1954. They were given to a student in Miss Stuart’s 5th-grade class and feature original period ink signatures from mid-century classmates including Mary, Dorothy W., Nancy, Marilyn M., Curtis, Carol Bernier, and Butch S. This authentic history makes them an amazing addition for paper ephemera collectors, junk journal crafters, or holiday history buffs.LOT HIGHLIGHTS & MANUFACTURERS:

Production: Features multiple official pieces from the famous "A-Meri-Card" line produced by American Greetings, completely identifiable by their vintage stock codes (such as 25V N-720-7, 8-5 V 8544 / 4 X, and X-802 / a).
Standout Art Styles: Includes the rare "Knockout" Boxing Cats, the "Plum Crazy" Blueberries theme, and a folding mechanical Sailor Pirate treasure card.
Glitter & Mechanicals: Features highly desirable collector elements, including the iconic silver-glittered "Sweet Tooth" white kitten and multiple functional stand-up easel back cards.

CONDITION REPORT:

There are no major structural tears destroying the front art.
