Specifications & Features:

• Brand: Zenith Radio Corp. (Chicago, IL)

• Model: Y-280A "The Aristocrat"

• Era: Circa 1967–1968

• Band: AM Broadcast Band

• Circuitry: 8-Transistor Solid State chassis (engineered in Japan)

• Design: Unique swivel/rotating pedestal base with chrome and faux woodgrain accents

Condition & Testing Notes:

Please read carefully before buying. This unit is being sold as a restoration project.

• Radio Functionality:

Untested. One owner estate find. Zenith clock radio was carefully preserved in a plastic bag. Found without the battery installed. Believe the radio uses one AA battery. Leaving the testing up to the restorer/buyer.

• Clock Functionality:

Untested. The clock is currently not running. It did not have the required C size battery installed. Leaving the testing up to the restorer/ buyer.

• Cosmetics:

Shows minimal signs of vintage wear. I did not find any noticeable scratches, scuffs, or cracks on the chrome trim or clock face. All original knobs and switches are present and secure. Please note: One plastic foot is missing from the swivel stand. It is possible one could be fashioned or salvaged. Also, there is a tiny blemish on one side. It is at the bottom of the faux woodgrain.

• Battery Compartments:

Both battery compartments are free of corrosion! Contacts are clean looking with no signs of damage. Small battery and schematic note have been left loose for the restorer/ buyer.

Please inspect all of the photos closely, as they serve as the ultimate indicator of cosmetic condition.
