I know even if a flashlight is new old stock, unless it is in a sealed package, you put batteries in if you can and test it out. I put 2 D-cells in and it works.It has the 3-way switch, On/Off and the flash/morse code mode with the red button. All three positions work as they should.The listing is for the flashlight only - my batteries are NOT included.
This is a Late-1950's to mid 1960's 555 Brand from China.It was part of their premium line at the time. It is a steel body that is then chromed. This is from the estate of a lady that had a pretty good sized collection of flashlights.This one was grouped (at the sale) on the "New Old Stock" table along with the other ones they couldn't find the boxes for.When I researched this one, in addition to the information already given I saw that the little sticker that should be near the switch the (555 made in China) was missing. Probably the glue dried up and that was that and it fell off. I added it to my collection of stuff anyway.
All I did to this was wipe some dust and fingerprints off it with a micro-fiber cloth before photographing it. It had been sitting in one of my display cases since about 2007 or so?
