Very Rare, Late 1950s, Jeff Arnold/‘Riders Of The Range’ Belt - ‘Eagle’ Comic:
$760.61
If, like me, you were a devoted redder of the wonderful ‘Eagle’ comic, in the 1950s and early 1960s, you will recognise this belt immediately, as relating to the hero of the ‘Riders of the Range’ series, Jeff Arnold, who with his faithful and grizzled companion, Luke, patrolled the prairie and kept it safe its inhabitants and those who travelled through it.
Written by Charles Chilton, and originally a BBC Radio series, it ran in the ‘Eagle’ from 1950-1962.
If you wanted to play being Jeff, you had to have his belt, and I was lucky enough to do so.
Made by Crafton, it was particularly prized for its six-shooter buckle, which to me looks more like a British, Webley Top-Break Revolver than the Colt Single-Action Army/Peacemaker one might expect.
Condition is generally good, with inevitable signs of wear and use.
The price I am asking for this piece of childhood history is high, but I have had it for over 65 years. I accept it’s time to declutter, but I am only prepared to let this item go for a substantial sum.
We pride ourselves on our green approach to online selling, creating our packaging exclusively from recycled materials.
