Very rare Vintage 1969 Apollo 11 Visor 11x14 Photo - Buzz Aldrin "A KODAK PAPER":
$10000.00
Up for sale is an exceptional piece of space exploration history: an authentic vintage 11x14 oversize color photograph featuring the iconic frame AS11-40-5903 ("The Visor") from the Apollo 11 lunar landing on July 20, 1969.This historic image captures Buzz Aldrin standing on the lunar surface, with Neil Armstrong, the Lunar Module Eagle, and the American flag clearly visible reflected in his gold visor.
Key Collector Highlights & Authenticity Markers:
Large Format Scale: Printed in a premier 11x14 inch format, which is significantly rarer than standard 8x10 period prints. Large-format custom prints from this era were produced in far limited quantities, primarily for executives, contractor displays, and VIP presentations.
Period Kodak Paper Stock: The reverse features the authentic diagonal "A KODAK PAPER" watermark pattern. This specific straight-font grid watermark confirms the photographic stock was manufactured between 1961 and 1972, placing its production directly in the Apollo era.
Camera Details: Clear, distinct Reseau (fiducial) crosshairs etched into the glass plate of the moon-used Hasselblad camera are visible across the image field, along with "E. ALDRIN" clearly visible on the chest pack.
Rich Vintage Character: Exhibits the classic tone and subtle emulsion characteristics consistent with period fiber-base/C-prints from the late 1960s/early 1970s.
Condition Notes:
Very good vintage condition for an unmounted 50+ year-old photographic print. Shows light, expected age-appropriate handling wear along the outer margins and a faint moisture line along the bottom edge on the reverse, with no major tears across the main subject field. Please review all high-resolution photos for exact condition details.
