Vintage 1900s African American And White Family With Dog - Group Photo RPPC:
$55.00
Up for sale is an incredibly rare and historically significant early 20th-century Real Photo Postcard (RPPC). This fascinating outdoor portrait features a rare integrated group gathering together under the shade of a large tree. The photo provides a stunning, layered glimpse into American social, labor, and family life at the turn of the century.
The scene features five individuals and their family dog:
Standing Left: An African-American woman looking towards the camera, dressed in a traditional long dark skirt and a light-colored working apron/blouse.
Standing Center: An African-American man posing confidently with hands on hips, wearing high-waisted work trousers, suspenders, a light shirt, and a cap.
Seated Left: A white woman dressed in elegant, light-colored Edwardian leisure attire, wearing a striking, fashionable wide-brimmed straw sun hat.
Seated Center: A white man wearing a light suit jacket and hat, with a large family dog resting peacefully on the ground right at his feet.
Standing Right: A fifth individual partially framed in the shade, wearing a wide sun hat.
Candid, authentic integrated group photography from this era is exceptionally scarce. This is a premier, museum-quality addition to any advanced archive of early American photography, social history, or Black Americana.
