Vintage 1960s Gulf Gulftane Low Lead Gas Pump Plate Metal Double Sided Sign NOS :
$399.00
UP FOR SALE: A spectacular, 100% original vintage 1960s "Gulftane Low Lead" double-sided aluminum gas pump plate sign.
This is the ultimate definition of a true "Barn Find" survivor. This piece was recently uncovered as part of a massive, untouched vintage Gulf collection stashed away deep in a rural farmer's barn. None of the items in this haul had ever been used or mounted—making this a pristine piece of New Old Stock (NOS) history!
Because it was stored away for decades and never exposed to the elements on a pump, the colors are remarkably vibrant, and the gloss is incredibly deep.
Condition Details:
Side 1: In outstanding, near-perfect NOS condition. The bright orange background, crisp white details, and deep blue typography pop flawlessly. It looks just like it did sitting on a warehouse shelf in the 1960s.
Side 2: Displays very well but has a few minor surface scuffs from decades of storage. I spent a little bit of time cleaning it up and successfully removed a bunch of the old storage grime, and with a bit more patient work, you could likely get it even cleaner.
Note on Imperfections: There is one minor paint nick/blemish on the field which I have explicitly highlighted with a close-up photo (see final pictures).
Overall: Rolled-edge aluminum construction that is completely straight, crisp, and ready to frame or display. Please review all high-resolution photos for exact dimensions and condition.
