Vintage Anthropomorphic Face Egg Cup Mustache Man Figural Hand Painted Ceramic:
$22.97
Charming vintage MCM novelty egg cup in the form of a mustachioed gentleman dressed in a brown suit with a yellow polka-dot tie. The cup portion forms the oversized head, with hand-painted features including expressive blue eyes with lashes, a bold black mustache, and dark hair — full of mid-century character.
Hand-painted ceramic with a glossy glaze. No maker's mark on the base. Consistent with similar anthropomorphic character egg cups produced in (likely) Japan during the 1950s, sometimes associated with "Gay Nineties" style figural sets. Approximately 4.125" tall.
Condition: Good vintage. Crazing present throughout the glaze. Minor glaze imperfections on the back — small dark specks and a faint paint swipe — appear to be from production; see photos. No chips, cracks, or repairs.
