A delightful set of 8 vintage cocktail napkins featuring a Madeira hand-embroidered old fashioned couple.Two napkins each of a couple courting, getting married, heading out on the honeymoon, and with two babies. The Madeira embroidery is fantastic down to the smallest details--her wedding bouquet, his "just married" sign, the babies in the carriage. Attention paid to all the period clothes in design and color. Colors vibrant on an off-white linen background finished with a red and blue stitched border. All beautifully done.
The set is in very, very good condition. No holes, stains or wear. One "just married" napkin is slightly lighter. Not noticeable. Hand-laundered and pressed.
The napkins measure approx. 6 3/4" X 4 3/4 ".
