Vintage Japanese Kutani Porcelain Tea & Sake Set Whistling Bird Tokkuri & Teapot:
$165.00

Up for sale is a stunning, authentic vintage Japanese Kutani porcelain serving set featuring the renowned Hyakunin Isshu (100 Heian-Period Poets) motif. This beautifully coordinated bundle bridges tea and sake hosting, making it an incredible addition for Asian art collectors.
The bases of the teapot and serving platter prominently feature the classic red square Kutani (九谷) maker's mark.
What’s Included in This Bundle:
• 1x Triangular Whistling Tokkuri (Sake Decanter): A beautiful, multi-sided vessel featuring a molded gold bird accent near the rim. This is a traditional "Uguisu Tokkuri" (whistling flask)—when sake is poured, air moves through the ceramic bird structure to mimic the chirping sound of a Japanese warbler bird.
• 1x Geometric Oval Serving Platter / Tray: Divided into striking hand-painted gold-lined panels, featuring detailed illustrations of traditional poets alongside elegant cursive calligraphy poetry scripts. (Measures approximately 7 inches wide across its short axis—see photos for exact tape measure reference).
• 1x Handled Teapot with Lid: Beautiful bulbous shape with a wrapped cane/wicker handle, coordinating gold accent panels, and poet portrait detailing on the lid and body.

Condition:
Excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The hand-painted gold gilding, character illustrations, and calligraphy scripts remain vibrant and crisp across all three items. The sake flask features smooth factory edges around its pouring spout, and the wicker handle on the teapot is completely secure. Please review the detailed photos to assess the exact cosmetic condition and dimensions. Related Items:
