This item is an original, mid-century aluminum machinery identification tag from a Mitchell Standard Unit.
It was a large, heavy-duty cotton cleaning and extracting machine used inside industrial cotton gins.
Its Job: It used spinning saw cylinders to automatically separate trash, sticks, and dirt from raw cotton fibers before feeding the clean cotton into the gin saws.
