Up for sale is a stunning, highly detailed vintage Royal Crown porcelain Belted Kingfisher figurine, meticulously designed by celebrated wildlife sculptor Jonathan Byron (J. Byron) for the Americana Bird Collection circa 1984.
This is the impressive, hard-to-find life-size edition, measuring approximately 7 inches tall and 7.5 inches wide from the back feathers to the tip of the beak.
Crafted from fine unglazed matte bisque porcelain, the figurine highlights incredible realism. The hand-painted artistry showcases the bird’s signature slate-blue textured feathers, warm rufous chest markings, and sharp crest. The kingfisher is perched realistically on a gnarled driftwood log, decorated with vibrant green reeds and a delicate yellow blossom at the base.
The underside is completely authenticated, featuring both the stamped black Royal Crown crown logo and the artist's authentic incised J. Byron script signature pressed directly into the porcelain paste. Excellent vintage condition no chips cracks or breaks
