Vintage Sheaffer Double Fountain Pen Desk Set with Lifetime Nibs
Beautiful vintage Sheaffer double fountain pen desk set featuring two long black desk pens mounted in matching swivel trumpet holders on a substantial rectangular black base with brass-tone fittings.
Both pens are fitted with desirable Sheaffer’s Lifetime fountain pen nibs. The classic black pens feature contrasting trim and have an elegant early 20th-century appearance.
The underside retains the original Sheaffer’s Desk Fountain-Pen Sets paper label identifying the W.A. Sheaffer Pen Co. of Fort Madison, Iowa, U.S.A. The label lists U.S. Patent Nos. 1,641,829 and 1,641,846 along with earlier design patent numbers. The base is also impressed with Sheaffer’s manufacturer markings.
Please note that the patent dates and numbers appearing on the original label identify patents associated with the design and should not be interpreted as the exact manufacture date of this particular set.
The base measures approximately 7" long.
The fountain pens have not been tested for filling or writing and are being sold as vintage collectibles. The set displays age-related surface wear, signs of use and storage consistent with its age.
An attractive and increasingly collectible Sheaffer desk set featuring desirable Lifetime nibs and original manufacturer labeling. An excellent addition to a collection of vintage fountain pens, writing instruments, Art Deco office accessories, or Sheaffer memorabilia.
