Beautiful handmade stained glass kaleidoscope signed “By Florence.”
This unusual artisan kaleidoscope features a long rectangular body constructed with soft blue opalescent stained glass panels framed in soldered metal, with a pair of colorful rotating stained glass wheels at the front.
The two circular wheels are divided into multiple sections of vibrant colored glass including red, blue, yellow, green, amber, pink, and smoky gray tones. As the wheels are rotated, the colored glass creates constantly changing geometric patterns through the internal mirrored kaleidoscope chamber.
The kaleidoscope has been viewed and produces colorful repeating patterns, examples of which are shown in the photographs.
A small inscription on the side reads:
“By Florence”
The exact identity of the artist and date of manufacture are unknown.
The piece rests on small metal feet and has a wonderful handmade studio-art appearance. The combination of stained glass, visible solder work, colorful double wheels, and functioning optical design makes it an especially attractive decorative and collectible piece.
Great for collectors of:
• Stained glass art
• Kaleidoscopes
• Handmade studio glass
• Folk and artisan art
• Optical toys
• Color wheel décor
• Unusual desk and shelf objects

The stained glass panels remain visually appealing and the kaleidoscope produces colorful geometric patterns when viewed.
The soldered metal framework shows age-related patina, oxidation, darkening, surface marks, scratches, and uneven handmade solder texture. The glass shows scattered light scratches, surface marks, and normal handling wear.
The brass-tone center knob and small feet show tarnish and oxidation.
Because this is a handmade stained glass item, some irregularity in the glass, solder lines, alignment, and finish is part of its artisan construction.
No obvious major missing glass sections were noticed. Please examine all close-up photographs carefully for exact condition, particularly the stained glass wheels, solder joints, corners, and metal framework.
