Vintage 10-piece Fire Chief uniform insignia set manufactured by Waterbury Button Company of Connecticut.
The pieces feature five crossed fire trumpets, the traditional insignia associated with the rank of Fire Chief. The uniform buttons are marked “Waterbury Button Co. Conn.” on the backs. This company backmark is generally associated with pieces manufactured during the early 1900s through approximately 1944.
Set includes:
6 gold-tone domed uniform buttons with shank backs
3 small screw-back collar insignia
1 large screw-back Fire Chief cap or hat ornament
10 pieces total
All pieces have a matching five-trumpet Fire Department design. They show light surface wear, discoloration and age-related finish variation. No specific city or fire department name is present.
