For sale is a wonderful piece of mid-century Americana decor: a Vintage Wilton Cast Iron Lidded Trinket Box / Match Safe featuring an ornate, spread-wing American Bald Eagle finial perched on a globe.
Manufactured by the renowned Wilton Products, Inc. of Wrightsville, Pennsylvania, this heavy-duty, sand-cast iron desk box beautifully encapsulates the mid-20th-century Colonial Revival trend.
The underside of the tray features the crisp, stamped "WILTON" maker's mark alongside the circled copyright symbol, proving its authentic mid-century manufacture.
The lidded box is styled as a desktop match box or stamp box. The eagle finial features its original vintage gold-painted finish overlaid with a factory-applied dark antiquing wash designed to mimic an authentic historic patina.

Condition Description Used / Vintage. In very good vintage condition with an excellent aged patina, sime rust spots as seen in the photos.
The heavy cast iron body is structurally sound with no cracks or repairs.
The original gold finish on the eagle shows light, attractive paint wear consistent with age, see photos. The interior of the tray and raw iron rims show trace, localized surface oxidation (rust spots) as is typical for authentic vintage cast iron. Hinge-less lid rests securely on the base tray. Clean and ready for display!
